Janet Schultz's Bio    Janet Schultz Tulane University Kid Komedy

Janet Schultz is a skilled writer, humorist, educator, and natural health advocate, as well as a senior level entrepreneur and manager experienced in marketing, public relations, and communications. A former mental health therapist, stand-up comedian, comedy writer, and professional speaker, she is nationally recognized for her innovative use of stand-up comedy as a teaching and therapeutic tool for children through "Kid Komedy", the non-profit organization she founded in 1998.

Janet achieved significant publicity for Kid Komedy on local, national, and international television and radio including CNN, FOX News, TBS, PAX, and NPR. Print features appeared in The Chicago Tribune, The Hollywood Reporter, Teacher Magazine, and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Janet has written numerous web articles on natural cures and holistic medicine, as well as covering personal growth and dating topics for match.com's Happen Magazine. Her published humor includes "What's So Funny about Managed Care?" in the Georgia Psychologist and "Laugh Lines" in PINK Magazine. She was a co-writer for the Georgia Public Television show "Jerry Farber Loves Georgia" and co-writer and Executive Producer of the CD, "The Best of Kid Komedy." She also authored a psychological study published in The Journal of Nonverbal Behavior.

Janet received her Masters Degree in Social Work from Tulane University and her Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Newcomb College/Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. She made the Dean's List from 1983 to 1985 and graduated cum laude with departmental honors. Her post-graduate education has included courses in advertising, stand-up comedy, screenwriting, holistic medicine, and spirituality.

Janet is an active proponent of organic living and a preventive natural health lifestyle which includes nutrition, natural supplements, homeopathic remedies, and many forms of holistic medicine including energy healing.
